We have three French groups altogether: French for All run by Sheila Burns, Advanced Conversation run by Kate Gordon and Intermediate French run by Dominique Wright
' I'm Kate Gordon and with Nicole Linsell I run the French Advanced Group for the Swaffham and District U3A. The word 'advanced' in our title should not put off anyone with an interest in improving their knowledge of French and having the opportunity to use the language regularly. The class includes people with some existing knowledge of French, often but not exclusively gained by having lived or worked in a French speaking country. We study contemporary French texts, discuss and translate them, and read poetry and novels. Above all the class is a friendly experience that helps people gain confidence in their understanding of the French language and its possibilities. We meet every other Friday morning at the Community Centre between 10 and 12 noon, alternating with Dominique's Intermediate group. Members pay a small fee for room hire and coffee.'
